Exercise: Fit your launch into your lifestyle.
Plan out your launch schedule based on your personal calendar and your business calendar. Make adjustments to the sample schedule as needed.
Avoid conflicts with holidays, events, travel reservations, or sales fluctuations. Insert the actual calendar dates below along with what type of content you want released each day.
Exercise 1: Know your numbers.
Estimate your production and promotion expenses to help determine your product’s retail price. Once your final price is determined, calculate how many products you need to sell to break even.
Exercise 2: How quickly do you want to get paid?
Is a payment plan sensible for your product? Brainstorm the pros and cons below.
Exercise: Review your content library.
What special bonuses, limited time offers, or fast-action bonuses do you want to offer?
Decide on the specific bonus topic, content type, and when and how you’ll deliver. Then, decide who will receive each bonus (aka when they have to purchase to get it or what they have to do to receive it) and when the bonus will expire. List out bonus(es) details for each scenario below:
Exercise: Put your creative hat on!
Create your first piece of pre-launch content for day 1 of your launch. Make sure it’s easy-to-digest, actionable and short – like a downloadable PDF that warms up your audience to the topic.
Your second piece of pre-launch content will go out on day 3 of your launch and will work best as a short video. Now that your audience is more familiar with your topic, what else can you create that will make the course itself feel super relevant to them?
Part 1
Exercise: What’s your hook?
Brainstorm eye-catching headlines to convince your followers to subscribe to receive your freebie. Also learn how to add the opt-in code from your email provider to your opt-in page (or delegate this task to your VA).
Rinse and repeat this process for Freebie #2.
Part 2
Exercise: Do you remember me?
Don’t ghost your subscribers. Plan out your email sequence for each pre-launch freebie you create.
Exercise: What happens next?
Create the Calls to Action to be used in each email. What’s the next step you want them to take? Your CTAs can inspire them to use your freebies, share your freebies with others and also tease your upcoming webinar or livestream and let them know why they should show up live. (You can specifically tease that you’ll be giving away a special offer, if you are).
Exercise: Rinse and repeat these same steps for Freebie #2
Exercise: Rinse and repeat these same steps for the calls to action for Freebie #2
Exercise: Focus on educating and inspiring people.
Map out your pre-launch content marketing. This is when you’ll promote your freebies and webinar. Decide on the topic of each email, social post and/or other content for each day of your launch. Write out the key points you want to get across in each piece of content. You’ll want to lead these prospects toward your two freebies and/or your webinar.
Exercise: Hire a sales force.
Make a list of people to personally ask to join your affiliate program. Start with mentors or other business associates who know your quality of work and you as a person.
Exercise: Make selling fun!
Map out a leads contest and sales contest to encourage affiliates to promote early and often.
Exercise: Add some friendly competition.
Create your affiliate contest page. Some affiliate software will have something like this built-in or you can create a simple page on your WordPress site.
Use this checklist of items to include on your contest page.

Exercise: Make selling easy for your sales force.
Decide on the other affiliate assets you or your team will need to create to make things easy for your affiliates.
Create an affiliate calendar with important promotional dates.
Jot down some ideas here of what info to include in emails, what graphic ideas to include in the social posts, and brainstorm some headline or CTA ideas. Then delegate the writing or graphics to your creative team.
Exercise: Get ready for your closeup!
Decide on a hot livestream or webinar topic. Write out 3-5 key points you want to make on your topic. Also, decide whether you want to provide a replay, but keep your special offer available only to those who show up live.
Exercise: Open for business!
Decide when you want to open your cart and how you will announce it. Choose a date and exact time, then plan out your promotions. Don’t ghost your audience! Be present on social media, respond to every question or comment, and stay in touch with your email subscribers.
Exercise: Create a “last chance” offer.
Create several emails and social media posts announcing the closing of your shopping cart. Provide a 48-hour notice, a 24-hour notice and a 1-hour (or even 30-minute) notice. In this chart, jot down important points to include in each one, plus deadline and strong call to action.
Exercise: Make one more last-ditch effort.
Reopen your cart for 48 hours only with a special payment plan. Once your cart has “closed,” reveal your last chance offer to those who visited the sales page but didn’t buy. Use an abandoned cart email sequence to do this.
Exercise: Map out your abandoned cart email sequence. This 3-4 email sequence will go out over the 48 hours and offer this special offer or payment plan to anyone who landed on the order form but failed to complete it. Find these emails from your shopping cart.
